Description
A lot of 4 Egyptian amulets, Late period - Ptolemaic, c. 664 - 30 BC. Lot includes a 'triad' faience amulet of depicting Isis, her sister Nephthys and the young Horus, the main protagonists of the Osiride myth involving the murder and revival of Osiris and the birth and the triumphal revenge of his son Horus. Amulet measures 30 x 14 mm. Also in the group is a black sandstone Wedjat or 'Eye of Horus' amulet, an 'ib' or amulet of the heart carved from the same black stone, and the last an alabaster stamp seal amulet with faux suspension loop. Largest 26 x 21 mm. Each with light deposits. Ex collection of Peter Cheremisinoff, NJ.
