**Originally Listed At $500**
East Asia, China, Qing dynasty, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. A matched pair of antique porcelain vases with motifs in hues of blue, red, green, and yellow. They rest on two-tiered feet that are slightly rounded but stable. The tall sides are decorated with geometric and linear motifs that are hand-painted on the white ground. The central register has sections of rectangular boxes with circles that alternate with a vertical row of flowers. Below the rim is a register of stylized clouds, alternating in colors. The lip has a sharply scalloped edge, and the interior is also glazed white. Size of each (both are relatively similar): 4.5" Diameter x 5.75" H (11.4 cm x 14.6 cm)
Provenance: ex-Ashland University Museum, Ashland, Ohio, USA, donated to Ashland University between July 1994 to December 1998

Condition
One is intact and very good. The other has a loss to the rim and radiating hairline fissures from this area that run vertically from rim towards base. Minor fading to pigments, but motifs are clear.
