Includes original bayonet with sheath and 19th Century photo of Co. K 51st Mass. at New Bern, North Carolina (Williams is identified at right side of photo by label on reverse). The gun is original Flintlock configuration with an English replacement tower lock. The lock is a period adaptation. The gun is a complete M1816 otherwise. The barrel is full Length 42", and has damage 1" from muzzle end. Breech is marked PM LH 1821. Bayonet is marked J.B. U.S., Scabbard is rough. The buttplate is stamped G.W. for Gustavus Williams.
