From the very scarce hand-colored edition (only 300 sets of this landmark series were issued with hand-colored plates). Finely rendered hand-colored drawings of three fish native to the waters off New York. Plate 11 – Spotted Lampugus, Fall Mackerel and Spanish Mackerel. Vintage plate from the Zoology of New York by James DeKay, published 1842. On thick paper. 2 erased pencil lines. 6.625 x 7.5 image on 8.5 x 11.25 sheet.
