Cotton 1830's (some fabrics are likely earlier) stars quilt, all hand pieced and hand quilted, with a red double sawtooth border. It measures 108" X 108" and is in good, condition, with age spotting in places and no wear, except for varying degrees of popping in a handful of the red stars (see pics). The quilting is superb, with quilting around the piecework and in various detailed floral, leaf and vine designs in the background, all at an even 10-12 stitches to the inch. The back is the same aged white used in the background, the hand stitched binding is an early striped fabric, and the batting is thin.
