A PAIR OF YELLOW SILK EMBROIDERIES
China, late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) to Republic period (1912-1949). Both executed in very fine satin stitch, centered with roses and peonies in bloom as well as butterflies and other insects, within a fine floral and butterfly border, all on a bright yellow ground.
Condition: Excellent condition with minor wear and few small stains.
Provenance: British private collection, according to the current owner acquired from a French noble family.
Dimensions: 73 x 61 cm each
