McCall (22nd North Carolina Regiment, Company B), seven pages of journal entries noting battles at Evansport, Williamsburg, Richmond, prisoners, casualties, troop movements, the activities of General Pettigrew (J. Johnston Pettigrew, 1828-1863) and the death of McCall's brother, also includes encrypted message and key, ledger entries and possible roster, in brown ink and pencil, lined laid paper, 42 pages total, leather cover with indistinct ink inscription on front and faint H[?] stamp on back, 7-1/8 x 3-1/8 in., toning, fading, stains, partial and missing pages, creases, later pencil inscriptions, covers with abrasions, creases, moisture damage Provenance: Descended in the Meade Family, Petersburg, Virginia, North Carolina
