CARL BARKS SIGNED PRELIMINARY PENCIL SKETCH - (Walt Disney Studios, 1970s) Original preliminary pencil sketch for a painting by Carl Barks. Accomplished in graphite and colored pencil on 14 ½ in. x 17 ½ in. artist’s vellum. Barks began his career at Disney in 1935 as an “in-betweener.” He eventually became the artist behind the Donald Duck series of comic books and is credited with creating Scrooge McDuck.
