Description
Lloyd Wright (American, 1890-1978) Rare Arm Chair, circa 1949 Redwood, mohair 36 x 36-1/2 x 33-1/2 inches (91.4 x 92.7 x 85.1 cm) PROVENANCE: Lloyd Wright, his home and studio, Los Angeles; Fred Rochlin, AIA, Los Angeles, acquired directly from above; Thence by descent. This chair was originally made for Lloyd Wright's Los Angeles home and studio and was accepted in lieu of weekly pay by Fred Rochlin, who worked for Wright in 1949 and 1950, primarily overseeing the construction of his Wayfarer's Chapel in Palos Verdes on California's Southern Coast. Mr. Rochlin later founded his own firm, now known as RBB, a large and influential architecture firm. Image of the chair in Lloyd Wright's Home and Studio, Los Angeles. Condition
Presents well with light reflections of age and use. Minor loss to back edge of one arm, light water stains to both arm rests. Seat height of 15 inches.
