EXTRA–ILLUSTRATED WITH 53 ENGRAVINGS, including several hand–colored by Marks and numerous rare portraits of Vestris, most on india paper and mounted. Text also printed on india paper and mounted on heavy stock. Early half red morocco gilt, marbled boards, raised bands, gilt decorated in compartments, top edge gilt (rebacked preserving original spine). Provenance: B.G.S. (bookplate); armorial bookplate.
