Item Details
Description
Outstand plat diam and 3.68 carat natural sapphire ring, c.1975/1985, GIA lab report on the sapphire, 13.8 dwts, size 7 1/2

Davids notes: A nice ring, with a natural sapphire that is 3.68 carats. In the GIA lab notes it mentions 'Titanium Diffused', which means after the sapphire was grown in the ground and excavated in a mine, it was heated at some point to spread the color evenly around. Titanium is the natural crystal in sapphires that gets spread evenly when heated. Approximately 90% of the natural rubies, sapphires and emeralds that are removed from the ground undergo some kind of treatment to improve the color or appearance. The sapphire is definitely natural, as indicated on the lab report.

Davids diamond analysis: There are four square VS1 G color .40ct diamonds at each corner, and 22 rectangular F-G color VS1 .10ct(average) diamonds in addition to the four square cut diamonds for a total diamond weight of 3.80cts.Excellent polish and symmetry.
