Especially in his turbulent, romantic seas influence of the celebrated marine painter Louis Meijer, from whom he received advise in the 1940s, can be seen.Petrus Paulus Schiedges made an accurate study of the different types of ships that in his time sailed the Dutch waters, so that he was able to show them in the smallest details.
