Condition
The varnish is a bit uneven and has yellowed a bit. There are careful touches of inpaint in the sitter's forehead and in his left cheek (viewer's right), further inpainting to be found in the shadow under the subjects chin. In his coat and in the background small touches of inpaint used to minimize the appearance of craquelure can seen. There is a small abrasion in the lower left quadrant and another in the upper right. Glue relined.
