Pair Chinese huanghuali 'Meigui Yi' chairs, Likely Qing Dynasty (19th c.), low back chairs with pierced backrests carved with central pagoda flanked by three stacked chilong dragons, the arms carved with a dragon scroll apron, one chair with shou medallions below the lower arm rail, with plank seat over dowel legs joined by box stretchers, 35.5"h x 18" x 23.25"d

Condition
Fair, nice rich wood color, loss of left stretcher and area of frieze molding to under seat of one chair, scattered nicks and scratches, some separations at joints, one chair with repair to left arm where it meets back, with associated small losses, other chair with raised nail head on back edge of seat **Condition reports are rendered as specialist opinion by the staff of the Auction House and not as statements of fact.
