Notes: With a career that spanned sixty years Maud Humphrey, the mother of actor Humphrey Bogart, was known for her heartwarming illustrations for children's books and magazines, as well as greeting cards, calendars and advertisements. By 1900 she was one of the most recognized, well-paid and popular illustrators in America.
