Acrylic on canvas, 2016. 406x305 mm; 16x12 inches. Signed, Duque, dated, October 2016, and inscribed, Ravel, on verso. Provenance: The artist; Private collection, NY. Diverging from his more typical urban compositions, this painting holds the all-over technique of Duque's magical environments. Twisting tree limbs and flowering plants are inhabited by diverse animals as well as people pursuant of varied leisure activities. Alexis Duque has exhibited in many galleries and museums internationally including The Museum of Latin American Art, Long Beach, CA; The Drawing Center, NY; El Museo del Barrio, NY; Rudolf Gallery, Amsterdam; and Praxis International Gallery group, NY, Miami, and Buenos Aires.
