Item Details

Description

Continental, pair of carved walnut canapes or settees in the Louis XV Rococo taste, each having a serpentine foliate diapered crest and apron, yellow damask upholstery, loose seat cushion, and rising on cabriole legs with stretcher and whorl feet, apparently unmarked. Provenance: From the Estate of Kathleen Blalock Hunsinger. Approx. h. 43.75", w. 52.5", d. 23"; seat h. 21".

Condition

One with two small nicks to the crest, stable joint cracks/separations mainly to stretchers, no apparent stains or tears to upholstery, frames are structurally sound.
