Item Details

Description

Group of eight pieces of tobaccania including a four-piece Arts & Crafts hammered copper tobacco set and four carved pipes with cases. The pipes with lovely carvings depicting foxes, a horse, the head of a figure, and a taloned foot clutching an egg; some marked. The copper tobacco set including a match holder, a cigarette holder, a cigar holder, and a round tray. All with a recurring motif of three squares in low relief or pierced along the edge.

Provenance: Property from the distinguished collection of Mr. James Lee Soffer, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
(Pipes) Height ranges from 1 1/2 in to 2 1/2 in; width ranges from 3 3/4 in to 7 1/2 in; depth ranges from 3/4 in to 2 1/2 in. (Smoking set) Height ranges from 1/4 in to 4 3/4 in; diameter ranges from 2 3/4 in to 9 1/4 in.
