Numerous copper engravings and in text wood–engraved vignettes. Contemporary speckled calf framed in a single Greek roll gilt, red and black morocco lettering–pieces gilt, spines gilt, marbled endpapers (some separation along joints or lettering–pieces to a few volumes, spines a bit dry, contents generally clean). Provenance: G. Richards (booksellers’ ticket). –– [Uniformly bound with:] SMOLLETT, Tobias (1721–1771). The History of England, from the Revolution in 1688 to the Death of George II. London: T. Davison for J. Wallis, 1805. 6 volumes, 8vo. –– Together, 2 works in 16 volumes.
