Germany, c. 1900-1902, #1080/2, the ship that graces the dust cover of the book "Allure of Toy Ships," now becomes an offering for collectors, overall detail, especially to upper deck is equaled only by its overall presence, tiered decks and platforms are enveloped by fine railing appointments, and all levels contain composition full figures. Marklin craftsmanship envisioned a toy that actually created the fad of an early luxury paddle wheeler and with hand painted lower deck curtains, blue and brown band stacks and matching paddle wheel covers, side guns all hanging lifeboats at the ready, with six original figures of the Captain and crew. It exudes luxury with the utmost artistic perfection: the complex bridge structure, enormous bow and coupled with original tall wood mast put this clockwork example in a class by itself. 31" l.

Minimal touch-up to lifeboats, side gun turrets, and small area of hull at stand. Exceptional features and condition.
