Features: Boxwood ruler with engraved scale and a brass caliper with 3 inch rule, engraved on front D.H & G Haggie, a wire tope manufacturer has his advertisement written on front. The maker name J. Rabone & Son is on the ledge. Date: Circa 1890
Size: 5" L x 1.75" W, & 6" L x 1.25" W
Condition: The boxwood ruler has a nick off just at the corner. The Rabone ruler has some expected age wear with light stains.
History: J. Rabone & Sons Birmingham. Michael Rabone founded his Birmingham firm in 1784. In 1877 John Rabone (grandson of Michael) changed the name to ‘John Rabone & Sons’.
