[Alexander Calder]. Fables of Aesop According to Sir Roger L'Estrange. With Fifty Drawings by Alexander Calder. Paris: Harrison of Paris / Minton, Balch and Company, New York, [1931]. Special limited edition, number 42 of 50 copies printed on Guarro's Spanish pure rag paper with coloured silk threads, and with an original line drawing, used in the book, signed by Calder bound in front (this copy with the original drawing for the illustration on page 24). Publisher's binding. Original printed paper dust jacket matching the paper used for printing with title printed in black on the front panel, with each flap adhered to the pastedowns, likely by the publisher. Also with the original glassine over the jacket. Chemised in the original reddish-purple paper slipcase with cream paper title label affixed to the cover. Original "Paper Knife for Fables of Aesop" laid in. Text uncut and largely unopened. Very minor edge wear. Light sunning to the spine of the chemise and the edge of the slipcase.
