Samuel Yellin Candle Stick

Lot 0010 Details

Description
This candle stick is attributed to Samuel Yellin. It belonged to Ralph Bencker, renowned Philadelphia art deco architect who designed numerous buildings in Philadelphia and NYC. The candle stick was part of his estate in Ardmore, PA, and following his death in 1961, it went to his granddaughter. The candle stick, though unmarked, is in all likelihood by Yellin, who may have had business relations with Mr. Bencker, since both worked in Philadelphia and may have shared cross-fertilizing business interests. This is greatly supported by the fact that Mr. Bencker’s granddaughter also is auctioning a floor lamp from his estate that is stamped “Samuel Yellin” (see separate listing). Dimensions: 7” by 13”.
Condition
