This cover was also in the group confiscated by NASA after the story broke.
With a notarized affidavit dated 19 July 1983 signed by members of the crew telling the story and certifying that this cover was indeed flown to the lunar surface, and has the NASA (confiscated) serial number 318 on the flap. Signed by Worden, Scott, and Irwin. Included is a printed card which reads in part: "Dear Friend, We hope this little souvenir of Apollo 15's journey to the Moon will be a welcome addition to your Memoirs. We made it especially for those who have been close to us all during the long period of preparation ... we took this letter along and autographed it on the moon."
