Description
West Mexico, Ixlan Del Rio, Ca. 200 BC to 300 AD. A lovely pair of figures, probably representing the village elders with wonderful personalities. Each molded in red clay with remains of painted slip highlights. The male figure, seated with knees drawn up. The female has a vessel strapped with a tump line to the back of her head. 10446. They are ornately decorated in slip pigments and have ear clips, nose ornaments and headdresses. Sizes: 9-1/2 inches &10-1/2 inches H. (Dims for packing 11 x 14 x 6 in Deep) Provenance: Ex Ernst Haas Collection 1990.
