Guerrero, Mexico. Ca. 300 BC. Carved bluish-gray serpentine stone standing figure holding both hands to abdomen, with a slightly elongated tapered head and simple relief carved facial features. A few remaining traces of red pigment highlights. 14997.Size: 6-1/4 inches H. x 2-1/8 inches W. + base. Very minor ancient flake on tip of right foot, otherwise intact, overall excellent condition. Provenance: Brooklyn NY collection acquired at Stair Galleries, Hudson NY, From a midwestern estate, acquired 1950s.(Approx dims for shipping: 6.5 x 3 x 4 in)
