Description
Thierry Boutsen is a Belgian former racing driver who raced for the Arrows, Benetton, Williams, Ligier and Jordan teams in Formula One. He competed in 164 World Championship Grands Prix, winning three races, achieving 15 podiums and scoring 132 career points. This Arai GP2 helmet painted by the Arai factory for Thierry is a rare example of a helmet used by him, the helmet shows extensive wear, and retains the original radio intercom wiring and speaker. The helmet is signed on the visor and dedicated as 'Merci! Saison 87' The helmet comes with a great photograph printed off taken by Paul-Henry Cahier capturing many of the attribues of this specific helmet during use at the 1988 Belgian Grand Prix. The helmet is likely used across the 1987 and 1988 seasons. Underneath the Camel sticker on the left hand side are marks of a previously fitted lift support fitting.
