A Russian Porcelain Easter Egg Imperial Porcelain Factory, St. Petersburg, Period of Alexander III (1881-1894), circa 1890 4-1/2 x 3-1/2 inches (11.4 x 8.9 cm) PROVENANCE: John Atzbach Antiques, Bellevue, Washington; The Kathleen Durdin Collection of Russian Decorative Arts, Tampa, Florida. Eggs of this type were inspired by designs of the Royal Copenhagen Factory that appealed to the Empress Maria Feodorovna, the former Princess Dagmar of Denmark.
