Gilt bronze clock. Dimensions: 50 x 56 cm. Superb Empire mantel clock, with carriage including a stag, a dog and the goddess Diana, Paris, circa 1810. The gilt bronze clock depicts Diana, goddess of the hunt, with the moon above her head and her attributes of bow and arrow in a carriage with a stag drawn by a pair of dogs. The French mechanism has a duration of 8 days, with a blue enamelled ring dial and Roman numerals. The black marble base features a relief decoration of garlands and allegorical scenes with cornucopias, a faun and other symbols. A very elegant clock with an excellent bronze statue and an appropriate composition. In perfect condition.
