Description
26th Dynasty, probably reign of Amasis, Ca. 570 - 526 BC. A bright blue faience shabti of Psamtik, God's Father, born to Seba-rekhyet. The body has nine lines of inscription. This piece is accompanied by a custom-made stand. Cf. G. James, Shabtis. A Private View, Paris, 2002, no. 90; the author notes the very fine workmanship of ushabtis of Psamtik, as well as their bright blue glaze, which is exceptional for this period. Also see M.
