RUSSIAN VOLUNTEER WWII COSSACK WINTER PAPAKHA, FUR HAT, NAMED
Russian WWII volunteer Cossack in the German army winter papakha lamb fur hat. It's made of gray sheepskin with a red top, silver braid, and a blue lining on which an old tag with the owner's name is sewn. It's extremely rare to find a volunteer's hat with the owner's name nowadays. The papakha is a men's fur headdress that was prevalent in Russia, among the peoples of the Caucasus and Central Asia, and was often a part of military uniforms.

HISTORY of SALES: A few years ago, winter papakha lamb fur hats were sold on Live Auctioneers for $650 (15 years ago), $775 (6 years ago), $1500 (3 years ago), and $3,700 (3 years ago). Please refer to the screenshots for further details. Today, prices have significantly increased compared to those of 5-10 years ago.
NO RESERVE: More than 70% of all auctioned items have NO reserve price. The rest have a very reasonable reserve.
WARRANTY: The buyer has 3 days to inspect items for originality, valued at up to $5,000, and 5 days for items valued at $5,000 or more. Items can be returned to the seller for a refund; please refer to the Terms for more details.
PAYMENT: Payment can be made with a Credit Card, Zelle, PayPal (for international bidders), Wire Transfer, Wise, Check, or Money Order. You can also suggest other methods of payment. Canadian winners can make payments to a Canadian Bank in CAD via Check, Money Order, Wire Transfer, or Interac e-Transfer.

DON COSSACKs: During World War II, the Don Cossacks mustered the largest single concentration of Cossacks within the German Army, the XVth SS Cossack Cavalry Corps. A great part of the Cossacks were former Russian citizens who elected to fight not so much for Germany as against the Soviet Union. The XVth SS Cossack Cavalry Corps included the 1st Cossack Division and the 2nd Cossack Division.
