The choice is YOURS. If a lifetime warranty is provided for the authenticity of a specific item, it means the item was manufactured during the described period. This warranty is not a printed certificate of authenticity; instead, it reflects our professional assessment that the item is original and was crafted during the stated historical period.
SILVERWARE: Silverware was produced mainly in St Petersburg (which had more western European influence and therefore a more European style) and Moscow (where a more pure Old Russian-inspired style came from), but other cities like Kiev, Odessa, and even places as far afield as Archangelsk had silversmiths creating beautiful objects of art. The industry grew quickly, aided by art exhibitions held from the mid-1850s onward and the public excitedly snapped up the beautiful objects they produced. An exhibition in London in 1851 showcasing silver made in Moscow introduced the Old Russian style to western Europe and the renown of Russian silversmiths increased, with firms like Ovchinnikov, Kurlyukov, the Grachev Brothers, and FABERGÉ attaining national and international renown.
WHY is it BENEFICIAL to EAT from SILVER UTENSILS?: If a set of silverware is used when eating, the human body becomes less susceptible to colds and viruses. The action of silver ions is in some ways identical to antibiotics, but silver, unlike them, does not destroy beneficial microflora. While the plague was raging in European countries in the Middle Ages, those who ate from such dishes remained unharmed. In Russia, Orthodox churches had a tradition of giving communion from silver utensils, using a silver spoon. This made it possible to avoid intestinal infections, which were not common here. Contact with silver can destroy almost all pathogenic microbes.
