Description
FIVE ART GLASS VESSELS, 20TH CENTURY, comprising a tall zanfirico glass vessel in the Murano style by Charles Savoie (American b. 1959) with signature etched on base, height: 15 3/4", diameter: 4 1/2"; a purple vase by Steuben Glass (American) with a T.G. Hawkes & Co. sterling silver base, makers mark on bottom, numbered 8021, height: 11 3/4", diameter: 4 1/2"; a Bohemian glass apothecary jar by Ludwig Moser & Sons (Czech) with gilt and enamel decoration by Wolfgang Berndt, signed, height: 10 1/2", diameter: 3 3/4"; and a pair of Monot et Stumpf (French) glass salts in a fitted case together with a shell-form salt spoon, likely a souvenir from the 1900 Exposition Universelle in Paris where Monot et Stumpf received a gold medal for their fancy glass, case measurements (closed) height: 2", width: 6 1/4", depth: 3 1/4", salt measurements height: 1 1/2", diameter: 1 3/4". Provenance: Private Collection, Houston, Texas.
Condition
The Steuben vase has some surface scratches on the body. There are minor losses to the gilt decoration on the Moser apothecary jar. One of the Monot et Stumpf salts has a scratch on the base and the case shows significant wear from handling and age.
