Ball/Sydney collection that was once deemed for the Smithsonian Henry Ford museum. Negotiations broke down from the Ball family and the collection remained in their possession until our firm, Hess Fine Art, bought it from Web C Ball’s great grandson. The family said a collector talked them into selling part of their collection. But as fate would have it, the buyer of this spectacular piece showed up on our door step and reunited it with the original ball collection! We attempted to get someone to buy the entire collection but its value was just too high for a museum to purchase. Three of the watches from this collection have been sold so far, and we’ve decided to share this one with the public. Please see pictures for more details. Condition: Preowned with minimal to no wear. Provenance is impeccable. White dial is beautiful with one short and faint hairline near the 11 index. Crystal shows minimal wear.
