BIOGRAPHY:
Ernest-Kosmowski was a graduate of the Warsaw School of Fine Arts, known in his country for his posters and his work as a decorator. Settled in Paris after the war, he stayed from 1960, during the summer season, in Honfleur where he opened a gallery. His pictorial research is inspired by expressionism and cubism, but his meeting with Bonnard, this subtle colourist, will bring light into his work. In the 1970s, Honfleur became his home port, Ernest-Kosmowski was then the painter of children and the joy of living.
