The book consists of eight essays about New York art scene in the 1960- early 1970s. Seven of the essays appeared previously in the New Yorker. Contents: powerful curator Henry Geldzahler, Andy Warhol, print impresario Tatyana Grosman, the art-and?technology movement, underground cineast Jonas Mekas, earthworks, video artist Nam June Paik and the spectacular slow?motion theater of Robert Wilson.
