Description: An amazing find in a stunningly made Art Deco ring by Marcus and Company. Approximately 25 carat center stone. No heat Natural GIA. Marcus & Co., one of the premier American jewelers of the early 20th century, was renowned for its exquisite Art Deco creations—particularly its sapphire and Ruby rings, which stood out for their elegance and craftsmanship. Founded by Herman Marcus, a former Tiffany & Co. designer, the firm carried forward a sensibility and commitment to quality that set it apart. During the Art Deco era, Marcus & Co. sourced only the finest sapphires—often Kashmir or Burmese stones—valued for their vivid color, velvety texture, and rarity. Often, he used for larger stones fine color or clarity Ceylon (Sri Lankan) stones. Their jewelers combined these exceptional gems with platinum, old European-cut diamonds, and meticulous geometric settings, resulting in pieces that embodied the height of luxury and remain highly collectible today.
