A George III-style scarlet and gilt-japanned armchair, c.1900, in the Chinese Chippendale taste, the frame decorated with chinoiserie scenes, with a drop-in linen seat, raised on square supports, 62cm wide 60cm deep 102cm high, seat 51cm high Condition Report: General knocks, rubbing, scuffs, wear and loss to the finish, particularly the arms and legs. General knocks and wear to the frame. A small amount of lateral movement in the joints, but it is generally sound, solid and weightbearing. The seat appears in good order.
