Original Pastel Drawing by Pierre H. Matisse

This lot contains an original still life pastel drawing done by Pierre H. Matisse. Pierre is the grandson of the famous French painter Henri Matisse. Pierre was largely inspired by his grandfather in terms of subject matter and color scheme. He used Arches watercolor paper with pastels for a more textured surface. The work itself is approx 30" x 22 3/4" while the frame is approx 42 3/4" x 35 1/2". The work and frame together weigh about 21lbs. The frame is in good vintage condition with a few chips around the edges.
