Description

French Napoleon III period oak prie-dieu/ prayer kneeler, 19th c., padded top rail and seat covered in needlework upholstery, the seat with Christogram IHS, nail-head trim, splat carved as a cross with foliates and pierced quatrefoils, fluted columnar corner posts, on frontal turned legs, approx 33"h, 18.75"w, 15.5"d, seat height: approx 8"h

Condition

CR 6.10.25-In my opinion regarding LOT: 3224-The chair is in sturdy condition, carvings remain crisp and largely intact with only light nicks, rubs, and wear to finish, upholstery shows some small threadbare areas/holes, fading and general grime/discoloration, the chair would likely benefit from a gentle professional cleaning, interior stuffing appears original with some variation/denting, all mentioned commensurate with age and use
