Pencil-signed to the bottom right corner. Circulated by Associated American Artists (AAA), New York. The glazed frame measures 16 1/2" x 19 3/4".
Benton comments in Fath: "Drawings of the flood of '37 -- Ohio & Mississippi were commissioned by Kansas City Star and St. Louis Post Dispatch. The area -- south east Missouri, sometimes called swamp east, and the bootheel. This lithograph, originally called 'Investigation' was made from one of the '37 flood drawings."

Condition
Fair condition. The sheet is not laid down. Faint toning within the mat window. Tear to the top right corner of the sheet, stabilized from behind with archival tape. Some mild creasing including at the top left corner.
