Description
Circa 1825, attributed to Harry Drake working at Pottersville. The jug having exceptional form and brilliant glaze runs surrounding the body. The upper shoulder and handle are marked with four crescent impressed marks symmetrically. The lower body near the foot impressed with A mark likely for Abner Landrum alongside X impression. The piece retains what is likely the remnants of molasses or solidified whiskey within the jug and this fills half of the jug making it quite heavy and this smells sweet within. No restorations, Cracks of damage detected. H13" W10" Sold from the collection of a South Carolina gentleman.
