Description
Sorting Day By Jody Skinner B. 1963
39x43" Oil Painting Framed
Jody Skinner is a self-taught artist who works exclusively with oils on linen, applying the oils with palette knives to provide rich texture to her canvas. Raised on a ranch in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, Skinner’s love of horses provides the foundation upon which she creates her limited number of beautiful paintings each year. Each piece depicts modern horse life, ranging from rodeo to the wild horses of Canada and the US. In 2009, Skinner was the Calgary Stampede Poster Artist, featuring the famous bucking horse Grated Coconut. She has received numerous awards over the years with the Calgary Stampede Western Showcase. Skinner’s work is featured in prominent corporate, hotel and private collections across North America.
