Description: A traditional Russian Orthodox icon depicting the Transfiguration of Christ, where Christ is shown in divine glory between the prophets Elijah and Moses, with the apostles Peter, James, and John falling to the ground in awe. Executed with fine detail in tempera and gold, set within a richly colored green border. The icon is painted on a curved wooden panel with a recessed center (kovcheg), typical of traditional Russian iconography. Accompanied by original Soviet-era export documentation from Moscow.
