AN IMAGE OF BABE RUTH BY PETER BORUTA SIGNED BY MRS. BABE RUTH, WITH A LETTER TO JOE MEDWICK FROM BILL FRAZIER
Print, circa 1968. This lot was mailed in a large envelope to Joe Medwick from Bill Frazier, included is the 12" x 9" Babe Ruth image with two bats resting on his shoulder and signed beneath the bats by Mrs. Babe Ruth "To 'Ducky' Sincerely Mrs. Babe Ruth", Ducky being Joe Medwick, with the printed array of lifetime statistic of Ruth printed to the backside with "To Ducky" on the back as well. Also included is a letter, on George "Babe" Ruth letterhead, from Bill Frazier who was instrumental in the planning, fund raising, and promoting the Babe Ruth Museum in the 1960s, as well as the original envelope post marked Feb. 3,1968 from Trenton, N. J. both pieces were mailed. The letter, from Frazier to Medwick, discusses Mrs. Ruth's delight of seeing Joe get into the Hall of Fame. Frazier also suggests for Medwick to "...drop her a note acknowledging the picture she autographed for you."
