Description

AMERICAN FOLK ART PAINTED ADVERTISING DRUM TRADE SIGN MOVIE PROP, the heads painted to promote the medical services provided by a "DR. A. LOCKSLEY HALL", one marked "TEETH PULLED", the other "HAIR RESTORED / GROWS HAIR ON AN EGG", retaining original painted surface. Circa 1950. 20" H, 17" D.
Catalogue Note: The present drum trade sign was used in the 1950 Western film Wagonmaster, written and directed by John Ford.

Provenance:

From the estate collection of Katharine "Kitty Sue" Pease, Los Angeles, CA.

Condition

Good overall condition with minor to moderate wear and tears. Some flaking to paint on body of drum.
