DESCRIPTION: Reception ribbon commemorating a receiption for Charles Lindbergh at the Montana State Fair in Helen in September of 1927 as noted on blue ribbon. Pinback top with cardboard insert for guest "Hon. G.J. Bonine". Bottom with gilded bronze medallion showing face of Lindbergh with the Eiffel Tower and Statue of Liberty with text "First Non-Stop Flight New York-Paris". Marked verso for Whitehead & Hoag Company and mounted on original Whitehead & Hoag cardboard backer. PROVENANCE: Lindbergh appeared at a dinner and reception honoring his flight at the State Fair arranged by William F. Casey, Secretary of the fair. G.J. Bonine was a state representative of Montana at the time of the reception. MEASUREMENTS: 4-1/8" on a 5" x 3" card. CONDITION: Minor wear to date text at bottom of ribbon. Card with minor uniform toning and scattered spots.
