Designer biography
Leo de Vroomen (b. 1941) is a Dutch-born master goldsmith who settled in London in the 1960s after training in The Hague and qualifying in Switzerland. In 1967 he and his wife, the English artist-designer Ginnie de Vroomen, established the de Vroomen workshop, producing jewels distinguished by generous 18k gold forms, richly colored guilloché enamel, and fine gemstones. The firm’s London maker’s mark LDV (De Vroomen Design Ltd.) is recorded with the Assay Office; de Vroomen jewels are regularly seen in leading galleries and at auction. Though the workshop is now archived (“no longer trading”), the oeuvre is widely admired for its impeccable craftsmanship and modern classicism.
