Exceptional 14kt yellow gold Ornate Hunter Case Elgin pocket watch. Exquisite filigree engraving both front and back of the case. The inside of the front case is engraved “Margaret A. Buxton Christmas 1916”. The watch runs but was not tested for timekeeping at the time of the appraisal. The serial number is 19582174 with production dates of 1915-1917. The watch is a size 3/0,7 jewels, grade 417. The movement is pendant wind and set,has nickel damaskeening, 3/4 plate, going barrel. The watch measures approx. 48.75mm tall, 34.75mm wide, 10.90mm thick. The face of the piece is approx. 28.10mm round, white in color with conventional numerals at the hour markers, red second markers above, and a separate second dial at the 6:00 position. The inside of the back case is stamped “A. W. C. Co. 14k 102482”. The inside of the inner case is stamped “102482”. The movement is marked “Elgin U.S.A. Double Roller 19582174”. The piece has a high polish finish and weighs approx. 36.00 dwt (56.00 grams)…. A professional appraisal in folder for insurance is available for an additional $20.00.
