This altar enormous size, shape stems originated from the palace furniture, is of elegant form. Desktop save box mounted core, stand along the carved fret . High waist, up and down the pitch and delicate lotus carved hypertrophy pattern, such ornamentation known as " Bada Ma ." Dental plate legging done with graceful curves , shovel banana leaf pattern and relief from the dragon, three-dimensional rounded lines , fine polished , no visible scratch marks. Curvy, varus clubfoot with embossed decoration Orb corresponding lines and curly grass pattern.

This altar is made of Zitan only. This Zitan Altar table is very heavy, requiring at least two strong men to carry it. This altar is constructed using Ming furniture joint structure, the desktop and corset , dental plates, can be dis-assembled, split up for easy handling.

This Zitan Altar of the Qing Dynasty palace furnishing can be considered as an indispensable piece of furniture used for displaying arts and antiques. The Room 'Ren Shoudian' in Summer Palace has four similar looking Zitan altar tables, displaying a coral bonsai , western watches and other items. They have never been moved over the centuries, and still in its original display. Width 55.25" Depth 19" Height 35"
